[edit] Albums
I have written what I deem to be good articles for the albums I know about, but I know nothing of what is apparently the most recent one, Strange as Angels-Cure Tribute. Could someone please sort that article out? J Milburn 18:15, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
Thanks, and I have put it in a more appropriate place within this article. J Milburn 17:04, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image
When I tried to move the image into the info-box, it was stretched horribly. Why is that? It is fine as it is, I suppose, but it would look a little neater in the box... J Milburn 18:16, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- I was able to kludge together a work around to by-pass the forced 200px width of the Infobox. It works, but it should not be a permanent solution. If anyone can track down another image we can use that has a 200px — or bigger — width to replace the existing one, we'll be in better shape. 170.35.224.63 14:15, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Page for 'BRAINS!'?
Does anyone think that it would be a good idea to have a seperate page for the song 'BRAINS!'? There is a good bit to say about it, and I would say that it is perhaps his biggest song. Disagree with me if I am an idiot, will create it in a few days if no one replies to me. J Milburn 21:36, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
- I actually had that idea too, I love that song. You can take lyrics and episode plot from here: Little Rock of Horror. When you create the article post the link here. -- Kwinston 19:06, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
- Cool, thanks for answering. I will put a link on all of the pages that mention the song, and one here when I make it. Anyone else think it is a good/bad idea?
I have created the page, and linked to it wherever the song was mentioned that I could find, and on the Brains disambiguation page. The page itself is BRAINS!. There was already all the information in various places, it is just a consolidation really, but it is done! How do you make Redirect pages? It would be good if 'BRAINS' and 'Brains!' redirected to it... J Milburn 14:06, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Real name
If we can find his real name, we should work it into the article and use it where more appropriate than his stage name --Improv 18:56, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
-
- I thought that, but in my sifting around various places, I have never found his name. May say in his books, but I am yet to get them. It does seem odd to refer to him as 'Voltaire' when talking about his animation and stuff... J Milburn 19:40, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
His real last name is Hernandez, based on a dedication to his father in Chi-Chian.
You can't really assume that he and his father would have the same last name because that is not always the caseLyo 17:41, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
-
- Correct, but it may be worth adding in the name of his father in the 'Early Life' section, and stating where that information was gotten from. Don't have it, so can't do that myself. J Milburn 18:07, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
There is a Yahoo group dedicated to Voltaire where he actively posts. At one point, someone posted Voltaire's real name on there and Voltaire was really, really upset. I'm not sure if that name can still be found in the group or if the post was deleted. Kevin143 04:32, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
- It is true, I registered there and tried to put a name and link but someone keeps changing it because it requires registration. However, there is proof right in that post that it is his real name and we should find someway to make use of that information and incorporate into this article or its just going to sit there with that "citation needed" label. Just register, go to search messages, and search for "Aurelio" and sure enough there is is his post. He is well known to post there and that is the one where he seemed to be upset with immature swearing and fuss unbecoming with such an intelligent person.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.122.45.243 (talk • contribs) 09:25, 2006 August 21 (UTC)

- A Yahoo group is not a reliable primary source and links that require registration do not make good wikipedia links, especialy when in addition to registration with yahoo, a membership with that specific group is required.

At live shows he claims that Voltaire is his real name. 172.148.12.85 04:53, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- In his book Oh My Goth he makes a whimsical reference to poser goths changing their name. A specific change from Bernie Weinstein to Voltaire is mentioned. The same name is also mentioned in The Vampire Club. Might mean something. Worth mentioning? 193.77.58.93
- I don't think so. We don't mention much about his books- Would add in more info myself, but I don't actually have them. J Milburn 17:44, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
- Voltaire himself has stated many times that Bernie Weinstein is not his real name, it was the nerdiest name he could come up with for the song Vampire Club. I also think it is best not to mess with posting his real name, as this topic infuriates him as demonstrated on the yahoo group. But, as long as no one can find it, I guess it isn't a problem.GirManda 20:14, 5 November 2006 (UTC)GirManda

[edit] Lack of Judaic Reference
I was thought to believe that Voltaire was Jewish. One of the reasons is well, he's covered so many traditional Jewish songs that you can't really dispute that even if he was born Jewish and no longer subscribes to the belief system that it is worth noting. Not one piece in the article mentions anything of the sort. Am I incorrect in my belief, and if so, should there not be a section with a reference clearing this up? If noone can dispute this, i'll hunt down a reference discussing his background and properly add a section about this. --OMG LAZERS 14:29, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- I have never heard this, if you can find a reference, add it and link to it on here. J Milburn 16:30, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
He was not born Jewish and considers himself atheist/agnostic. I believe there are Jewish members in his band though and the band members certainly contributed to the Jewish-folk sound of The Devil's Bris and the cover of Haveinu Shalom Aleichem.Kevin143 04:34, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Billy and Mandy
"Cartoon Network asked Voltaire to write another song for The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, and it is expected that this new episode will be aired in the near future."
More info, link? -- Kwinston 22:31, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

- I thought the same, but I still included it in the BRAINS! article. Anyone know anything about this?J Milburn 07:22, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
- It's true. Voltaire talked about it in his blog. The new song is called "Land of the Dead," and is already played on the concerts. The B&M episode featuring it will air in the future. -- Henk65 23:04, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
