Voices is the second full-length album by New York band Matchbook Romance. It leaves the emo-ish tones of their other record Stories and Alibis for a more dramatic, darker record, overall it's a more musically accomplished album than Stories and Albis. Also, vocalist Andrew Jordan abandoned his screamo vocal style for a richer vocal style with more actual singing and less all out yelling. Inside the album's packaging is a small plastic panel, with alternating black and transparent strips, this panel can be aligned with parts of the album's artwork to reveal secret messages. Hence "there are voices in the walls." lyrics to the hidden track can also be found in typos in the lyrics of the other songs.

[edit] Miscellaneous

  1. On the MBR album "Voices", there is a hidden message inside the booklet that shows the lyrics. If you read all the darkened letters, it will show the following message:
"Is there really a God? We could really use a miracle right now.I'm really not scared. I deserve what I get. They're coming for me tonight. Invite them in to take me away. It's all a bad dream, a nightmare. If you will leave your light on, I'm prepared for the worst. I'll get back to you. We've all got secrets. This is our chance. Wake up."
  1. Using the transparent black and white stripped decoder in MBR's album "Voices", there are hidden messages on the different wallpaper in the album art
Front: "Purchase at your peril, oh wretched believers of none"
Head mounts: "Mind your skull, lest it become my chowder bowl"
Back: "The teeth of time draw scars of voices"
Middle of lyrics book: "Serve the broth of my heart to the tongueless"
