[edit] Biography
He attended high school in Banja Luka, and at the age of 17 he joined the partisans. After the World War II he studied literature for a brief period of time. He wrote for "Banjalucke Novine", and Radio Sarajevo. He was a prisoner on Goli Otok (notorious communist prison on small island of Croatian coast), where he was held as a political prisoner. He published a collection of poems: "Ambasador Boema", "Partizanske Pjesme", "Ljubičasti Kišobran", as well as novels: "Kafana San", "Topovi I Slavuji", "Crni Konj". He was also a great humorist, and received a prize "Zlatni Jež", which is the greatest prize in that area. Numbers of modern rock and pop performers took his lyrics, and made some of most memorable modern love songs of all the times. Most famous are: Selma (performed by Bijelo Dugme), Stanica Podlugovi (performed by Zdravko Čolić), Cisti, Bijeli Snijeg (performed by Arsen Dedic). Recognized as the "Bohemian Ambassadeur" , Vlado Dijak went straight into the history of poetry.
[edit] Some Songs
[edit] Nina
- (Dedicated to his beloved granddaughter)
U jesen ja i Nina šetamo,
biramo najljepša mjesta;
S' brda se vidi Banjaluka,
Kuće,gimnazija,cesta.
Ja pušim. To Nini smeta.
Ne voli ona dim cigarete.
Nina ima crvenu vestu
I smije se k'o dijete.
[edit] Stanica Podlugovi
Zima je bila sa puno snijega,
čekao sam za Travnik vezu.
Stresla je snijeg sa plave kose,
čekajući voz za Brezu.
Zima je bila sa puno snijega...
Vozovi mnogo novih lica nose,
ali nje nema da kao onda
strese snijeg sa svoje kose.
I ja ne mogu, sve i da hoću,
zaboravit plavu kapu,
a vozovi idu, danju, noću,
kroz Podlugove, kroz Podlugove...
[edit] Selma
Selma
putuje na fakultet
ona putuje, ja kofer nosim,
molim,
težak je al' pošto njen je lično
ja i taj kofer volim.
Selma,
na ulasku u voz ti htjedoh reć'
nešto nježno što izaziva
pozor,
al' rekoh samo zdravo Selma
i molim te ne naginji se kroz prozor..
