[edit] Help me!

Wanting to create a subpage to my user page (for a draft), I realised that instead of taking me to the screen where I can create it, clicking on the create link asks me if I want to download index.php. Now, I've done this before and I know this is not supposed to happen. What could the problem be? My browser configuration hasn't changed since the last time I used this successfully. Is it a (temporary) server problem, or have I done something to mess it up?

Links such as http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:VladDogaru&action=edit or http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:VladDogaru/Test&action=edit won't work. Any ideas? If you try it and it works for you, please create the above pages. I especially need the test subpage. Thanks. This is the first time I ever ask something, so I apologize if I'm being inappropriate.

Hi, I've created the two pages as you requested. The index.php being downloaded sounds like a problem with your browser - which browser are you using? (Please put {{helpme}} back when you reply so we know to check back.) Cheers, Tangotango 13:00, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
The problem could also be caused by selecting "Use external editor" (or something like that) in your preferences. Make sure you haven't ticked that. If you are still stuck you can use {{helpme}} again, here, on your talk page.--Commander Keane 13:05, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
Hello and thank you for the speedy response, I am using Firefox 1.5. I've just realised that trying to edit (not only create) an entire page doesn't work. I can edit separate sections (like this one now), but not entire pages. VladDogaru 13:03, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
That was the problem. I had ticked that and forgot about it. Now everything is fine as far as I can tell. Is this fuctionality broken or is there some sort of 'catch' to it? Once again, thanks to both of you. VladDogaru 13:11, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
Well it seems to work ok, you just need to get your computer to open the files in an editor instead of asking you first each time. That's all I know I'm afraid, if you want more info you will need to ask at WP:VP/T. Happy editing :-) --Commander Keane 13:18, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
