I took this picture of Vladivostok city and harbor in 2000. You can see the "Statue to the fighters for Soviet power in the Far East" in the bottom right corner. While anti-Soviet statues, like that of Russian poet Osip Mandelstam — who described Stalin as having "'little cockroach eyes' and 'fat fingers greasy like worms'" — are often vandalized, the Statue to the fighters for Soviet power in the Far East is considered one of the cities prized possessions.

This version of the picture is not the original. I retain the only original, which is bigger and has more data per pixel (because it is un-enhanced), as proof that I am the owner. I give my permission to copy this picture to other language versions of Wikipedia. Kaspersky 15:46, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
