Vizrt (OSE: VIX) is a software company that provides a range of solutions for TV stations and other high-end graphics applications. The heart of Vizrt's software is Viz- an OpenGl based real-time 3D graphic engine, along with a node-based editing environment. The Viz|Engine renderer is a tcp/ip server. It uses tcp socket to receive and send asci strings. These asci strings are commands with which the graphics are created and controlled. Viz|Engine support an open architecture, uses DLL extensions (Plugins), and is shipped with an SDK. Viz|Engine outputs an RGB (24 bit) and a key channel (8 bit) SD signals (non compressed) at NTSC, HD 1080i/720p, PAL or any other video format.
Other than the real-time graphics-editing environment and the rendering engine, several products use the tcp interface to send commands to Viz|Engine in a runtime environment. These are mainly template graphics driven products that populate many master-control rooms and reporter desks around the world. Viz|Trio Is a 'CG-Like' front-end that trigger and control graphics scenes in a live situation. Viz|Content Pilot is a template-driven-interface for reporters. With Viz|Content Pilot, reporters are inserting their stories into the station's play list. These stories air with Viz|Trio play list or Viz|Content Pilot play list. Viz|Media Sequencer is a BG application that schedules messages between many clients (Viz|Trio, Viz|Content Pilot, etc...) and Viz|Engines. Viz|Virtual Studio is used to connect multiple cameras to the computer - send the pan/tilt/zoom/focus and XYZ locations per frame, and Hocus Pocus - you can composite a virtual environment with live action over blue screen.
