Vito Arcilesi

Vito Arcilesi (1894-1979) was a mafioso, bootlegger, and rumrunner who came from Alcamo, on the island of Sicily to the United States by way of Ellis Island in 1910. Vito married Francesca Amato and they settled in Detroit, Michigan with their four children Joseph, James, Gaspare and Steven. Upon the repeal of Prohibition, Arcilesi involved himself in illegal gambling and loan schemes. He died at his home in Grosse Pointe, Michigan at the age of 85.
