From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Vita Hludovici or Vita Hludovici Imperatoris is a biography of Louis the Pious, Holy Roman Emperor and King of the Franks from 814 to 840. The work was written in Latin in or soon after 840 by an author whose real name is unknown. He is conventionally called the Astronomer or the Limousin Astronomer.
Another biography, known under the same title or as Gesta Hludowici Imperatoris, was compiled by Thegan of Trier.
