Visit Malaysia Year 2007, also known as Visit Malaysia 2007, is a main event in Malaysia to celebrate 50 years of nationhood and independence. It is the third edition of Visit Malaysia Year event, following two previous successful efforts in 1990 and in 1994. It will began in New Year's Day, that is, on January 1, 2007.

The word 'Malaysia' is written in strong freehand both to permit conformity with the overall design proposal as well as the 'Malaysia, Truly Asia' tagline whiel providing the suggestion of a liberal nation and accommodating population. It is intended to portray a level of 'casualness' and a lack of formality for visitors.

The five dots of the stamen represents fifty years of independence and reinforces Tourism Malaysia's existing logo. The imagery also denotes Malaysia's rising prominence in the region as a modern nation as well as being indicative of hope and happiness.

The text 'Visit' & numerals '2007' in similar bold freehand is used to reinforce and complement the word 'Malaysia'. The use of red offsets and reinforces the blue of 'Malaysia'.

'Celebrating 50 Years of Nationhood' carries with it the idea of self governance and freedom.

Centred within the logo is a heart-shaped petal which signifies Malaysia's warmth in welcoming the world with open arms and heart. It also forms the primary and most prominent petal of the design.

Eye on Malaysia 7 January 2007 Until 31 December 2007 Experience a breathtaking 360 degree panoramic view of Kuala Lumpur city! This unforgettable 30-minute ride reaches a height of 60 metres and offers a magnificent view of over 20km of the city.

Flora Fest 20 January 2007 Until 4 February 2007 Feast your eyes on a splendid display of flowers! The city will be transformed into a veritable paradise of breathtaking,colourful blossom. with its theme 'Colour of Harmony', the event will be a delightful experience for participants and visitors alike. A highlight is the Floral Parade in Puterajaya, featuring beautifully decorated floats from all around Malaysia and the neighbouring countries. Bazaars, competitions, exhibitions and workshops are other not to be missed activities.

Thaipusam Festival 1 February 2007 This is a day of penance and thanksgiving by Hindu devotees held in honour of Lord Subramaniam. The festival is best experienced in Kuala Lumpur where the deity's jewelled chariot is led in a mass procession through the streets of the city, culminating at Batu Caves in Selangor. An unforgettable sight is the thousands of devotees in a trance-like state carrying body-piercing kavadis or ornate frames.

Wesak Day 1 May 2007 On this day, Buddhists observe the birth, enlightenment and passing of Lord Buddha. Religious offerings and rituals such as 'bathing of the Buddha', chanting of holy scriptures, lighting of joss sticks and ordination of monks usually take place in Buddhist temples. National Water Festival - Labuan International Sea Challenge 1 May 2007 Until 6 May 2007 The Labuan International Sea Challenge welcomes participants from around the world to join in an amazing week of: (i) Rolex IGFA International Game Fishing Tournament The prestigious deep sea fishing tournament is part of the qualifying circuit of the Rolex/IGFA Offshore Championship. It is the region's most challenging and the only extended long range deep sea fishing tournament. (ii) Cross Channel Swimming Challenge The swim spans 5.4km of open sea towards Pulau Papan and back to Labuan. Local and international swimmers view to break fast year's speed records and set new times in the domestic and open categories. (iii) Labuan International Extreme Kayak Challenge Not one for the faint hearted, this race is one of the longest and toughest in Malaysia. Comprising of the individual and double categories, the race will be in a double format covering a distance of 84km across the Brunei Bay, starting from Labuan to Sopitang and back. (iv) Round Island Kayak Challenge The kayak race designed for the highly skilled enthusiast. The course is 50km long and runs along the perimeter shoreline of Labuan Island.

Mount Kinabalu International Climbathon 25 August 2007 Until 26 August 2007 Touted as 'The World's Toughest Mountain Race', this is a race ascend and descend the majestic Mount Kinabalu(4095.2m). The total distance is 21km for all categories. The average climber takes two days to climb the mountain but participants of the race can make it in less than three hours. The race determines the ultimate champion of the 7-series Federation for Sport at Altitude's (FSA) Skyrunning World Championship (racing on high altitude).
