Vision Racing is a team in the Indy Racing League founded in 2005 when Tony George purchased the assets of the defunct Kelley Racing. Some people view the team as an insurance policy for George that his stepson Ed Carpenter will always have a seat in the series and if the series is ever in danger of failing to meet its minimum car count of 16 for a given race, that Vision could simply field enough cars to meet the minimum. The state of a series principal also owning a team that races in that series has also garnered much controversy as a conflict of interest. However, George has withdrawn from much of the day-to-day operations of the series in order to oversee Vision Racing's development and to avoid a potential situation where he would have to make league decisions that may affect his team in a biased way. In 2005 the team was consistently one of the slowest on the track, however, with the 2006 hiring of a new team engineer and expansion to two cars with veteran race winner Tomas Scheckter, the team has much higher expectations and has so far performed much better than 2005. Actor Patrick Dempsey also joined the team in 2006 as co-owner.

Vision Racing have confirmed that Ed Carpenter and Tomas Scheckter will continue to drive for them in 2007.
