Virudhachalam is a city and a municipality in Cuddalore district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

Virudhachalam has an average literacy rate of 77%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 83%, and female literacy is 70%. Important places to visit in Vriddhachalam : 1) Palamalai Nadhar (Siva) Temple has got a great history and one of the old Temple in South india. 2) Manimutharu (River) is one of a famous river in south india.
