State Route 142 is a primary state highway in and near Petersburg, Virginia, United States. It runs along part of the old Boydton Plank Road from U.S. Route 1/U.S. Route 460 Business east into Richmond, where it ends at the old city limits, the crossing of the CSX Transportation A Line (former Atlantic Coast Line Railroad bypass of downtown Petersburg). Halifax Street continues northeast to US 1/US 460 Business in downtown Petersburg.
