Virginia Reel roller coaster

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Virginia Reel roller coaster is an older style of coaster that are characterized by "tubs" instead of trains and multiple turns instead of large hills and drops.

It is a style infrequently built nowadays. Instead of trains as the conveyance medium, the ride has "tubs", which have seats built around their perimeter that face inward. These tubs spin freely on their base as they travel around turns. Virginia reels are not known for big hills or drops but rather feature many turns to spin their tubs as much as possible.
