From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Virgin Digital is an online music store launched on September 27, 2004 U.S. and on September 02, 2005 UK. It is operated by the Virgin Group. It offers individual tracks at US$0.99/UK£0.79 and most albums for about $10/£7. Its subscription service, Digital Music Club, costs US$7.99/UK£9.99 per month and it offers free radio services. It has the singular distinction of holding the largest collected music library of any online music service, with over two million downloadable tracks.
Purchased tracks can be transferred to other devices and burned to CDs. Subscription tracks are tethered to the PC (up to 3) and can be transferred to a portable music player, although this requires the premium subscription service UK£14.99. Song previews are 30 seconds in the Music Store, but full length tracks are available within the Red Pass US/ Club UK.
