Vine City is a station in the MARTA rail system. The area it serves was mostly industrial in the early 20th century being just south of Atlanta's largest power plant, the Davis Street Plant and homes associated with that but as of 2006, the area west of Northside Drive is largely abandoned and ready for redevelopment. If you are coming from the west side of town, it is a handy way to get to the Georgia Dome.
