Vindicated (Invader Zim)

Vindicated is an episode of Invader Zim, originally produced as episode 24B. Although this episode did not air on Nickelodeon in the US, it aired on the Nicktoons Network in the US on July 22, 2006. It marks writer Danielle Koenig's first solo writing effort on Invader Zim.

During gym class, Zim and Dib have a dodgeball game, in which both are defeated. Dib is ordered to go to the guidance counselor of the Skool.

The guidance counselor, Mr. Dwicky, listens to Dib's explanation of Zim being an alien, and says he believes him, apparently having believed in aliens for years. Dib is inspired by another person who agrees with him, and asks Dwicky to help expose Zim. However, Mr. Dwicky is lying and is only trying to figure out what Dib's problem is (though he has probably proved it; Dib's problem is that no one will believe or even listen to him).

Later, Dib shows the counselor an alien language he found from Zim's computer. Dwicky suggests that they could pretend to be aliens to expose Zim. The two proceed to contact Zim. Zim is told by the two that they are aliens who have crash-landed in a forest nearby on Earth, and will trade weapons for repair tools. However, Zim has to go to the forest undisguised.

That night, Dib and Mr. Dwicky wait with a video camera, and the counselor asks what Dib's problem really is. Dib realizes that Dwicky doesn't believe him at all. Afterward, Zim quickly arrives, and Dwicky is shocked by Zim, as Zim is shocked that Dib is there. Dib attempts to explain, but then two actual aliens arrive, conveniently with weapons. Dwicky decides to go with them, but forgets that he has the camera on the ship with him.

Alas, alas. Dwicky is gone, Zim now has a stockpile of weapons, and still is not sure what Dib is doing here. Dib is again defeated.
