Vincent Priessnitz

Vincent Priessnitz, also written Vincenz Prießnitz (October 4, 1799 - November 28, 1851) originated the alternative medicine practices of hydrotherapy and the nature cure, which stressed remedies such as fresh air and mountain water over conventional medicine. He lived in Gräfenberg (Lázně Jeseník) near Freiwaldau (Jeseník), now Moravian part of the Czech Republic. In the 19th century he established a world-famous spa.
