Vilyuchinsk

Vilyuchinsk (Russian language Вилючинск) is a closed town in the Kamchatka Oblast, Russia. It is located across Avacha Bay from the much larger city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky at around .
The town was founded in 1968 and is 404 km² in area. The population was 29,400 people in 2002. It was previously 37,400 in 1996, 32,300 in 2000, and 31,800 in 2001 having decreased since the former Soviet Union disbanded and military priorities changed.
