Villa Las Estrellas

Villa Las Estrellas (Spanish: "Stars Village") is the only permanent settlement in Antarctica, that has families with children. It has a population of about 88 people, mostly Chilean Army officers with their families, explorers and scientists.

It has a school, hospital, bank, post office, airstrip, supermarket, telephones, television signals, internet, a Catholic church ("Santa Maria Reina de la Paz"), etc.

The town is located at King George Island, at Eduardo Frei Montalva Station.
