Villa Ángela

Villa Ángela is a city in the province of Chaco, Argentina, about 186 km from the provincial capital Resistencia. It has 43,511 inhabitants as per the 2001 census [INDEC], which makes it the third largest in the province.
The area was first settled in 1908. On 24 May 1910, commemorating the centennial of the May Revolution, a village was founded there with the name of Ángela Joostens, wife of the one of the founders.
Since 1950 the city has important Carnival celebrations.
