Vila Nova Futebol Clube is a Brazilian football team from Goiânia in Goiás, founded on July 29, 1943.
Vila Nova's greatest rival is Goiás, with whom there is a constant argument about which club has the largest fanbase in the state of Goiás. A consensual way of viewing things is declaring Vila Nova has the largest fanbase in Goiânia, and Goiás has the largest fanbase in Goiás state. However, some Goiás supporters claim their club has also the biggest number of fans in Goiânia. Nevertheless, Vila Nova has an estimated fanbase of about 350,000, which is pretty big for a Brazilian Third Level club.
They play in red shirts, shorts and socks. Their nickname is 'The Tigers'.
