[edit] Vile Mark "3"

Offically, its Vile/Vava V, not Mark 3. Changing it. Source: Offical Capcom Desktop Artwork

For the last time, it's VAVA V and NOT MK-III. Whoever edits that all the time, stop it!

[edit] Personality

“
Vile at first was merely a cocky part of Sigma's organization. He saw the Ride Armor as his ace of spades, and he laughed at anyone who challenged him. The first time he realized that he was vulnerable was when Zero blew off an arm from his Ride Armor. He ran away, getting a new arm (or a whole new Ride Armor), and once again became cocky about his chances. Even when X absorbed a great amount of power, Vile decided that it didn't matter even though his Ride Armor had been destroyed. When Doppler repaired him, he once again looked to his Armor as his greatest advantage, using a modified Kangaroo and then the powerful Goliath. Even so, he didn't really seem to care if he died taking down X. He decimated an entire small compound, hoping X wouldn't escape in time.

”

This is hard core original research. It's one person's interpretation of the work, and any attempt to source it to the games would necessarily be selective quoting to push the POV that Vile's personality is such-and-such.

Wikipedia is not here to interpret fictional works for the reader. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 00:19, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

This is excellent an example of explaining to me how it violates the WP:OR policy. Its pure observation. To state otherwise is quite dubious. The only trait I see is he's cocky. And he was, too. -Randall Brackett 00:33, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
If you think it violates the OR policy, why did you just reinsert it into the article? - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 00:35, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
I was being sarcastic, in view of your brief rationale. -Randall Brackett 00:38, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure what more there needs to be said other than "It's interpretation." It's selective interpretation to push a certain view of the character's personality, and I gave a lengthy explanation of why this is OR and why it's bad on your talk page in addition to explaining my reasoning here and in edit summaries. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 00:46, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

That's an entirely misrepresention of the personality section. It's not selective in my view, nor is it a mere interpretation based upon subjective views. Your explanations are insufficient. That would entell your opinion on the view was correct and is precisely why I'd inquire third opinions. -Randall Brackett 01:01, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Really. Not selective, not interpretive.

  • Who says he's cocky, and why isn't this attributed to a speaker?
  • When did he call his ride armor his ace of spades?
  • When did he laugh at a challenger other than X or Zero?
  • How do you know he had never felt vulnerable before that? When did he say he felt vulnerable?
  • How do you know he felt cocky after getting another ride armor? How do you know it was because of the ride armor?
  • How do you know he looked at his armor as his greatest advantage after being repaired?
  • When did he say that he didn't care if he died?
  • How did you know he hoped X wouldn't escape in time?

How do you know he wasn't motivated by self-loating? Or hatred of the Maverick Hunters? Or a need to prove himself? How do you know it was confidence instead of bluster?

It's all interpretation and it all needs to go. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 01:11, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Sure. I'll provide references if that's okay. Although I'll ignore the fact some of the questions were deliberately meant to entell slight stupidity. -Randall Brackett 01:14, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Vile's appearance like Boba Fett

From the last sentence of the very top paragraph: "Vile's appearance is very similar to Boba Fett of the Star Wars films."

But doesn't Jango Fett (from Star wars Episode II) look like Boba Fett? Will this make it so that Vile looks like both Jango and Boba Fett?

--Addict 2006 19:59, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

It would be rather difficult for Vile to be based on Jango Fett, as MMX was released a good seven years before Attack of the Clones. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 20:01, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
