From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Viktor Pimenov was a cameraman for Vaynakh Television, a Chechen station supported by Moscow-backed forces.
March 11, 1996, he was fatally shot in the back by a sniper positioned on the roof of a 16-story building in Grozny, the Chechen capital. Pimenov had been filming the devastation caused by the March 6-9 rebel raid on the city. [1] it was alleged he was singled out as a target. [2]
