Viking Airlines

Viking Airlines is a privately owned charter airline with head office in Stockholm, Sweden. It operates charter flights for European tour operators. The airline was established in 2003 and started operations on 10 May 2003. Main bases are Greece and UK.

Since late 2005, Viking has operated regular flights to Erbil in Iraq. The airline plans flights from Stockholm to Athens and Beirut from March 2006, though the Beirut flight launch has been delayed to April 2006 and now has been indefinitely suspended due to the 2006 Lebanonese-Israeli war.

The Viking Airlines fleet includes the following aircraft (at August 2006) [2] :
Aircraft registrations: SE-RDE, SE-RDF, SE-RDG, SE-RDH. One aircraft is based in the UK. It was flying for Air Scandic in its livery. After Air Scandics bankruptcy this aircraft continued to fly in the UK for Excel. One aircraft is based in Athens and two are based in Heraklion. For Summer 2006, MD-83 SE-RDH has left the Viking fleet and has joined Greek carrier Sky Wings, operating for Excel in the UK, based at East Midlands airport.
