Viki is a cheerful and very clumsy young girl with great talent for magic. Her usage of the Blinking Rune allows her to directly warp people to any location in which they have already been before, and her ability to use most other magical runes is exemplary. However, her clumsy nature causes her to be very prompt to make mistakes during casting, and she has a strange tendency to unwillingly warp things, people and even herself to random locations, particularly after sneezing.
[edit] Biography
There is very little that is certain about Viki beyond the fact that she is a magician who specializes in teleportation. Her home, which she describes as a “magical land” is a surreal landscape located in an unknown region of the planet, filled with unexplainable phenomena in which space seems to twist over itself, with doors and windows floating in mid air and strange endless corridors.
Chronologically, her first documented appearance was during the Kooluk invasion to what would latter become the Island Nations Federation, in which she put her skills as a magician and teleporter under the service of the Unification Army in exchange for housing, after suddenly appearing in front of their leader Lazlo apparently due to an accidental teleportation. Upon the war’s completion, she mysteriously vanished during the celebration feast.
Approximately a century and a half later, she suddenly appeared within the Twilight Forest Ruins in the Queendom of Falena along with Nash Latkje, breaking a hole through the ruins’ roof because of an accidental transportation, which served to free Lorelai and Killey who were trapped in the temple because of a triggered booby trap. Viki and her companion both disappeared within minutes of this event.
Shortly after, she appeared in front of the Freyjadour Falenas, at that time the leader of Falena’s Royalist Rebel Army in very similar circumstances, requesting protection in exchange for her services. Once again, she disappeared during the celebration feast upon the final battle’s completion.
Five years later, she appeared in Toran’s Forest of Illusion during the Gate Rune War, where she met Tir McDohl and requested his protection. She disappeared during the celebration only to appear years later within Dunan’s Erud Forest in front of the leader of Dunan Unification Army, Riou and repeating the cycle.
Her last documented appearance was during the Second Fire Bringer War, in the Grassland-Harmonia border, this time followed by a child who seemed to be a younger version of herself, despite having a distinctly different personality. She helped the Fire Bringer battle the invading Harmonian Army and the independent troops commanded by Luc, only to disappear again after the final battle.
[edit] Weapons
Older Viki has a long wand that she employs as a mace, however from Suikoden IV onwards, the wand is only used when countering, while her normal attack consists of warping and dropping random objects on top of her enemies. Her weapon changed names in Suikoden V, but the shape and function remained unaltered.
- Wand (Level 1-5)
- Wow Wand (Level 6-11, 6-12 in Suikoden III)
- Wow Wow Wand (Level 12-16, 13-16 in Suikoden III)
Suikoden V Version
- Wand (Level 1-6)
- Wa-Wa-Wa-Wand (Level 7-13)
- Uwa-Wa-Wa-Wa-Wand (Level 14-16)
[edit] Young Viki
Viki, or Young Viki and Small Viki as she is often referred to in order to differentiate from her homonymous counterpart is a character in Konami's role playing game Suikoden III

A child who followed the old Viki during the Second Fire Bringer War and became a member of the Second Fire Bringer to keep an eye on her. She appears to live in the same place as old Viki and while her appearance suggests that she should be younger, her behavior and manners are far more mature than the older girl's, and she lacks any of the clumsiness and obliviousness that characterizes her counterpart.
Her abilities as a magician are at the very least equal to old Viki’s and she appears to have a much more stable and broad grasp of the teleportation magic. Beyond this, she offers no further information on herself or her relationship with the older girl. She disappeared at the end of the war, chasing after Viki.
[edit] Weapon
Young Viki’s weapon is a smaller compact version of the larger wand, although the names differ completely.
- Wand (Level 1-5)
- D-Wand (Level 6-12)
- D5 Wand (Level 13-16)
[edit] Mystery
Viki is one of the more popular unresolved mysteries of the Suikoden saga. Her sporadic appearances, obscure background and the fact that she displays no signs of aging in any of the series’ installments are a matter of continuous speculation among the fans, but in-game dialogue brings up the likely possibility that her disappearances at the end of each game may not only take her across space, but also back and forth through time. While the order and nature of these warps is all but certain, what is known as a fact is:
- Richmond’s investigations reveal that Viki warped directly from the Toran Unification victory feast to the forest in which Riou found her.
- When she appears in Suikoden III, she mentions having “missed another meal”.
- In Suikoden IV, she mentions missed another meal, with the addition of seeming used to the situation and asking Lazlo “Are you the one that’s supposed to protect me?”
- During Suikoden IV, she believes she had seen Jeane before. In Suikoden V, she is sure of it and mentions having “Encountered her lots of times in the past”.
- In Suikoden V, she once again brings up missing yet another meal, now apparently increasingly frustrated with her bad luck.
- For whatever reason, she seems to want to keep her origins to herself. During Sukoden V, she offers to take the Prince to a “magical land” where he can forget everything in an attempt to comfort him, but latter takes back her word and asks him to forget she ever said anything.
- She doesn’t remember breaking the roof of the Twilight Forest Ruins in Suikoden V, nor having seen Lorelai before.
[edit] Trivia
- Apart from her teleportation, she also has the peculiar ability to sleep while standing up.
- Viki is one of only two characters who has appeared in every main game of the Suikoden series as a Star of Destiny (excluding the side story games), the other being Jeane.
- In the first, second and third games, she was known to say "waffu... reffu..." in her sleep.
- Young Viki, the younger version of Viki in Suikoden III, does not even share the same Star of Destiny as Viki herself, calling into question whether they are actually the same person.
