Vijesti (English: News) is a Montenegrin daily newspaper. It started out in 1997 as second Montenegrin daily newspaper. In the first years of existence, it has been accused of being too much of a proponent of Montenegrin independence and Montenegro's government. After the acquisition of "Vijesti" by German media group, Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung, it has turned it focus more towards citizens’ everyday problems.
In the dawn of Montenegrin independence referendum, "Vijesti" was a mild supporter of independence, but eventually fully joined the campaign by shipping traditional Montenegrin flags, bracelets and caps with Montenegrin insignia used by pro-indepencence bloc, along with copies of the newspaper.
