Vigarano Mainarda is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Ferrara in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 40 km northeast of Bologna and about 9 km west of Ferrara. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 6,707 and an area of 42.3 km2.[1]
The municipality of Vigarano Mainarda contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Vigarano Pieve, Borgo, Castello, Coronella (partially), Diamantina, Madonna dei Boschi (partially), and Tortiola.
Vigarano Mainarda borders the following municipalities: Bondeno, Ferrara, Mirabello, Poggio Renatico.
