Viganella is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 120 km northeast of Turin and about 30 km northwest of Verbania. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 185 and an area of 13.7 km2.[1]
Viganella borders the following municipalities: Antrona Schieranco, Calasca-Castiglione, Montescheno, Seppiana.
In November 2006 the town set up a giant, computer controlled mirror on the mountainside, a sheet of steel 8 m wide and 5 m high, in order that the village, located in a narrow valley, would get direct sunlight in the middle of winter.[2]
