Originally on a normal tour of duty, the four find themselves under massive attack by NVA and VC forces during the surprise Tet Offensive of 1968. They end up getting cut off from friendly forces, ambushed numerous times, and eventually fight their way across a vast expanse of the country to stay alive. The game offers a split-screen two-player mode where each player controls two characters.

This game has several new features, including an experience-based level up system, the ability to pick up ammunition from fallen enemies and a quick trigger for grenades. Also, the game features numerous vehicles for the player to use, including a jeep, a Patton Tank, a patrol boat, a helicopter, and a self-propelled artillery piece.

[edit] Storyline

Set during the 1968 Tet Offensive, Conflict: Vietnam focuses on four US soldiers who are cut off from their platoon while behind enemy lines. The men are forced to make their way back to American lines, fighting for their survival without any interest in the general course of the war...

A third-person, fast-paced war game taking place in the heart of the Vietnamese jungle.

Control four troopers from the 101st Airborne: SSgt Ragman with submachinegun and trusty 12gauge shotgun, Hoss with his M-60 Heavy Machinegun and huge belts of 7.62 ammo, Junior the Sqaud's Sniper with a M-14 marksman issue and the new addition to the team, Cherry, the combat medic fresh out of basic training packing an M-16 Assault rifle as his main weapon.

Can you handle the pressure of this brutal, dehumanising war, rise to the challenge and still escape with your life-and soul- intact? Like many soldiers before you, you'll soon start to realize the whole mess of a war 'don't mean a thing'.
