Vicuña, Chile

Vicuña is a city in northern Chile founded during the government of Bernardo O'Higgins, to secure sovergeinity over the Elqui Valley. The famous Chilean poet Gabriela Mistral was born here in 1889.

Vicuña is a mayor centre for pisco production.
