Victor Chandler Handicap Chase
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Victor Chandler Handicap Chase is a Grade 3 National Hunt horse race in the United Kingdom for five-year-old and above horses run over a distance of 2 miles (3,219 metres) at Ascot Racecourse in January.
It is one of the leading handicap chases of the season, and often includes contenders for the Queen Mother Champion Chase. There are twelve fences to be jumped in the race.
The race is sponsored by the bookmaking company Victor Chandler and was introduced in 1987, although it was abandoned in the first two years due to frost (1987) and fog (1988) and could not be run until 1989.
