From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Vernon Macklin (born September 20, 1986) signed a letter of intent with the Georgetown University men's basketball team, the Hoyas.[1] At 6'10" and 215 pounds, Macklin is widely considered a five-star recruit at the power forward position.[2] Rivals.com, in fact, ranks him as the 12th best overall player and the 3rd best power forward in the high school class of 2006. Macklin currently attends Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Virginia and was named a McDonald's All-American.[3] In addition, Macklin was one of only ten players selected for the 2006 USA Basketball Junior National Select Team, which will participate in the Nike Hoop Summit.[4]
