Verity Sharp

Verity Sharp is a Radio Three presenter and co-presenter from England.

Sharp ended her school years by earning a BA at The University of York with six months of training in production. During these years, she did some acting, performed music, and was able to learn languages in school which she still works on, especially her French lessons. After school, she was producer and co-presentator for Pebble Mill's Music Machine, a 15-minute music programme. She also did some hospital radio for a year that help her with how to function behind a microphone.

She began working for Radio 3 in 1998. As of 2006, she is co-presenting , with Fiona Talkington, the Late Junction programme that started in 2001. She is also the main presenter of The Culture Show on BBC2. In 2003, Late Junction won a Sony Gold award for which she thinks it is a very proud moment for the team after three years of very hard work.

Since her employments have been in television shows involving talking about music and choosing music for listeners, she needed a good background in music knowledge. It is from her student years at Darting College of Arts and York University the she acquired such a taste for music that includes non-Western music. Although her training was in classical cello, later took up the fiddle and turned to the traditional music of her country. She also acquired her knowledge of radio shows from a producer who worked on one and was giving her advices and answering her questions.
