From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hi Vertigo700, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions to the coolest online encyclopedia I know of =). I sure hope you stick around; we're always in need of more people to create new articles and improve the ones we already have. You'll probably find it easiest to start with a tutorial of how the wikipedia works, and you can test stuff for yourself in the sandbox. When you're contributing, you'll probably find the manual of style to be helpful, and you'll also want to remember a couple important guidelines. First, write from a neutral point of view, second, be bold in editing pages, and third, use wikiquette. Those are probably the most important ones, and you can take a look at some others at the policies and guidelines page. You might also be interested in how to write a great article and possibly adding some images to your articles.
Be sure to get involved in the community – you can contact me at my talk page if you have any questions, and you can check out the village pump, where lots of wikipedians hang out and discuss things. If you're looking for something to do, check out the community portal. And whenever you ask a question or post something on a talk page, be sure to sign your name by typing ~~~~.
Again, welcome! It's great to have you. Happy editing! --Spangineer (háblame) June 29, 2005 16:12 (UTC)
[edit] How to revert vandalism
Hi Vertigo!
Looks like you had some difficulties reverting vandalism. Thanks for taking care of that. In case you don't know, there's a very, very easy way to do it. Just go to the history page of the article. Open up the version of the article just prior to the vandalism. Select the edit button like you'd be editing a current version. You'll see a warning letting you know that you're editing an out-of-date version. That's ok. Don't make any edits, just save the older version. It will now become the latest version of the article, and the vandalism is gone. Hope this helps. SDC 06:55, 13 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] formatting weirdness
Hi - Does Colorado look better now (not sure what browser/OS you use, but it looks better to me). Please let me know. Thanks. -- Rick Block (talk) 03:33, July 22, 2005 (UTC)
It does, I use Safari 1.3 and it looks fine now. Not sure what happened with the formatting, but thanks so much. Vertigo700 04:49, 22 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image:800px-Map of localphonecompanies.png
Do you still have earlier versions of the above mentioned image? With the SBC name change to AT&T, the image is out of date. As you created it, I was hoping you still had some earlier versions where you could easily change the name and reupload it. - TexasAndroid 14:51, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] 800px-Map of USA showing state names1.png (II)
That's a great image. However, Sprint is the LEC in Southern Nevada, not AT&T. Rmisiak 17:55, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Ellie Caulkins Opera House
Hadn't really finished the piece, so just did so, and added several refs to source materials. Vivaverdi 17:18, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Denvercapitolhillhouse.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Denvercapitolhillhouse.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 16:25, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Welcome to Project Colorado
Hi there and Welcome aboard, it's nice to see another person take interest in Colorado, and join up with me.
This project is REALLY new, about two days or so, so I encourage you to use the talk pages with any questions/comments/concerns, and above all jump right in. One of the main goals in the project is accuratcy, so correct and write away.

[edit] Denver Neighborhoods pic...
I was wondering why Image:Denveneighborhoods.gif has weird white space on the left and top of the image? It expands the size of this image in each article and makes it look kind of unbalanced... --MattWright (talk) 00:07, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 20:19, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Denver deletions
I'm puzzled-- you don't seem inclined towards vandalism that I can see, but you deleted without comment a fair chunk of the Denver article. I have reverted-- you might want to explain with at least an Edit summary if you choose to re-delete. Cheers! -- Mwanner | Talk 23:29, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
- Glad to hear that you haven't suddenly gone to the dark side ;-) -- Mwanner | Talk 23:42, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Good Work
Good job on the Diversity in Denver, Colorado page. I wanted to note Denver's ethnic diversity, but the section got out of control. Hey, I also added that pic of DIA's interior to the Transportation section, but I'd prefer having a external picture. If you find a good one, add it. Anyhow, see ya around. [edit] Neighborhood Gif (University Neighborhood)
Julio,
Thanks for adding the gif highlighting the University Neighborhood. Could you add some text noting where University Blvd. is? This would help to distinguish between Univeristy and University Park. Thanks, Davidyorke
Julio, Point well taken about the gif. However, University is the border for University/University Park. Also, would it be possible to label it University/York, asterisk it, and make a note on the bottom that it means University below 6th Ave, and York above 6th ave? Again, thanks for contributing and for getting back to me so soon. Davidyorke
[edit] Image Tagging for Image:JP_Highlight.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:JP_Highlight.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

[edit] Hola!
Hey man,
I want to really get into some hardcore formatting on the Denver site. We've done an awesome job, but I'd like to work in tandem with you to get this page featured, or organized like the other cities.
I'm all for edits, changes, etc... you've done an awesome job moderating the page and if you want some help, let me know!!! I'm on here quite frequently and love to be a part of something like this.
