Vepriai crater

Vepriai is a meteor crater in Lithuania.

It is eight km in diameter and the age is estimated to be greater than 160 ± 10 million years (Upper Jurassic or later). The crater is not exposed to the surface: it has eroded and was covered by aqueous rocks during the glacial period.

The crater is named after Vepriai town located in its center. Vepriai crater is the largest impact structure discovered in the territory of Baltic states. Nowadays there is a largest gravel quarry in Lithuania.
