[edit] Biography
The band started in 1998 after Zach Davidson was in a band called Plebian Cry. The original band members were Erik Chapman, Joseph Childres, Justin Cronk, Zach Davidson and later came Leif Andersen, Jeff Rouse and Burke Thomas. While most of the original members are natives of Bakersfield, California, the band formed in Seattle, Washington.
In 1999, Vendetta Red self-released the 6 Kisses A Blatant Reminder of Why We Are Alive EP and toured the West Coast. A year later, they issued their debut album Blackout Analysis on the small Red-Button Records; White Knuckled Substance appeared in October 2001, courtesy of Loveless Records, and was well-received on local radio.
Though the band frequently told fans and even MTV2 that Davidson was homeless and living in his car at the time they were signed, Davidson later admitted to a reporter that this was a lie and that all 5 members were sharing an apartment at the time.[citation needed]
Epic Records offered Vendetta Red a record deal in early 2002. After testing the waters with a 4 song EP entitled Cut your Noose, the band members headed into the studio with producer Jerry Finn later that year to record a fourth album. Between the Never and the Now was released in June 2003, and the band supported it with a lengthy North American tour, which included a stint on that summer's Warped Tour.
In 2005, Vendetta Red made their last album entitled Sisters of the Red Death which is a story about a Medusa/harpy named Gloria.
Vendetta Red announced through MySpace on March 8, 2006 that they were going separate ways to create different styles of music. Former Vendetta Red members Davidson, Andersen, and Rouse are now working on a new band called Sirens Sister.[1]
Leif Anderson joined the band in 2005, after having been a long time friend of Burke. Leif and other members of his previous band, Common Heroes, were frequently the live backup band for Burke's side project, Pris.
Burke has a side project, Pris and is in the band The Treatment along with Leif. Long Distance Runner is another project including former Vendetta Red members Justin Cronk and Joseph Childres. So far, all bands only play local shows.
Vendetta Red was best known for their vivacious live performance such as their final, sold-out show, which played on April 8, 2006 at El Corazon in Seattle, Washington.
Zach, Leif and Jeff have begun a new band, Sirens Sister, and on September 12th, 2006, they released their debut album, Echoes From The Ocean Floor on The Control Group. Sirens Sister will soon be beggining their West Coast tour.
