Vegas Grand Prix

The Vegas Grand Prix fueled by VISA is a Champ Car race to be held in downtown Las Vegas April 8, 2007.
The first American open wheel race in Las Vegas took place in 1954 at Las Vegas Park. The CART series held an race at Caesar's Palace from 1983-1984. It used the same temporary course used for the Las Vegas Grand Prix Formula One event.
In September 1996, Las Vegas Motor Speedway opened with an Indy Racing League event. The IRL raced there through 2000. In 2004-2005, the Champ Car series also held races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In 2007, Champ Car will return to Las Vegas, and utilize a temporary street circuit in Downtown Las Vegas.
