[edit] Polish Academy of Sciences photo
In case it was you who provided the beautiful photo of the PAN headquarters in Warsaw, someone is threatening to delete the photo soon if its copyright status isn't clarified. I hope the photo can be saved. logologist 22:22, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for getting in touch. I suggest you contact User:Halibutt, who I'm confident can advise you on finding out about proper statement of the photo's copyright status. logologist 02:04, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Ogrodywilanow.jpg
|
Hello and thank you for your contributions. Unfortunately Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted images or content without a clear license that gives explicit permission to do so. The images you have uploaded for Wilanow will be deleted, unless you can provide information that allows them to be displayed. Image:Palacwwilanowie.jpg, Image:Ogrodbarokowywilanow.jpg, Image:Ogrodywilanow.jpg. Gryffindor 19:31, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Vegalabs. The email or the question to Wilanow should ask very specifically if their images may be used on Wikipedia. You should state for which articles they should be used and for what purpose. Normally by pointing out to the owner that it will only be used for encyclopedic purposes should not be a problem, but that can vary. What is important is that the owners have to specifically state under which license they are willing to release the picture. Is it still copyrighted, a free license, GNU, etc...? It is probably best to insert into the image page as well the correspondence that you wrote and the permission that you received, should anyone be in doubt. I would recommend that you take a look at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags to inform yourself of the various licences, if you haven't done so already. Wikipedia has to have a strict rule on images from other websites, otherwise we could get legal trouble and we need to avoid that under all circumstances. If you have any further questions or are in doubt, feel free to ask. with kind regards Gryffindor 22:18, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Zdjęcia
Czołem, gratuluję świetnych zdjęć. Zauważyłem że niektóre z nich wgrałeś także do wiki. Czy można wgrać też inne pod tą samą licencją i z podaniem źródła? Halibutt 21:31, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Neo-Renaissance
Hi, thanks for your message at Talk: Nei-Renaissance. I would like to use your picture of the staircase. Can you tell me who designed it, and when. Has iy always been in a glazed courtyard etc. The glazed courtyard may be of importance later in the page, if it has always been glazed over. Would you prepared to upload some of the images of the courtyard to commons? Thanks for your help so far. Giano | talk 17:09, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

- Thanks i was working on the page when you left your message so the architects have gone straigt in. I'm pretty sure that the courtyard was always glazed too, but it would be good to have it confirmed, before someone points out the error on the FAC page! There is a lot more work to do ther so far, and I hope to start the paragraphs on the glazed courtyards soon. Thanks a lot. Regards Giano | talk 07:41, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Foo.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Foo.png. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
