Vectren Corporation is an energy and applied technology holding company headquartered in Evansville, Indiana. The company provides gas and electricity to nearly one million customers in Indiana and Ohio.
The company was formed on March 31, 2000 through the merger of Indiana Gas Company and Southern Indiana Gas and Electric Company. In the fall of 2000, Vectren also acquired the natural gas distribution assets of Dayton Power and Light Company of western Ohio.
