Varshakonda

Varshakonda is located in the district of Karimnagar, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is a typical Indian village. Varshakonda is an agrarian society, with the majority of the population depending on agriculture for their livelihood. The major crops are rice, wheat, cotton, and sugarcane. Varshakonda is unique, with people of many religions, including Hinduism, Islam, and Christianity. There are many places of worship in this village. Some of the places of worship are: the Ganga Matha temple built by the Bestha community in the village, Lord Hanuman temple, Balaji temple, which was built very recently. Varshakonda is almost 200 kilometers away from Hyderabad, the state capital of Andhra Pradesh. Some of the villages around this village are: Ibrahimpatnam, Dabba, Kondapoor, Bandalingapoor, and Ammakapet. Varshakonda has a big pond which is used by many people. There are both public and private educational institutions in the village. Some of the people started migrating to Metpally, the nearby town, for standard education.

Varshakonda is a Panchayat form of government, with Sarpanch as its head. He is elected by the people of the village. Men from this village have been working in middle eastern countries for many years. This village is far from developed, with development beginning in the last couple of years.
