Valsad district

Valsad is a district in the western Indian state of Gujarat. As shown in the map, it is surrounded by Navsari district in north, Dang district in east, Maharashtra state in south and Arabian sea on the west coast.
The district covers 5,244 square kilometres, is divided in to five talukas, and has a total population of about 1,410,553 of which 27.02% were urban as of 2001. [1] Its administrative capital and the largest city is Valsad.
The five talukas are Valsad, Pardi, Umargam, Kaparada and Dharampur.
Valsad is well known for its production of mangoes, sapodilla, and teak, and also has a chemical industry centred on Atul.
