"Valley of the Shadows" by Origin Unknown is a highly influential drum and bass track from 1993. Its lengthy but now famous sample "long dark tunnel", sampled from a BBC documentary on 'out of body' experiences, is often used by DJs and dance music aficionados to identify the record. The title is perhaps inspired by Psalm 23 in the Bible.

Apparently the author of this tune is known, and it is in fact a British DJ called Andy C.
