Valeriy Serdyukov

Valeriy Pavlovich Serdyukov (Russian: Валерий Павлович Сердюков) (born November 9, 1945, in Horoshevka, Homiel Voblast, Belarus) is the current governor of Leningrad Oblast.
Serdyukov graduated from the St. Petersburg State Mining Institute with a degree in economics.
He was appointed by the Oblast Governor as Vice-Governor in charge of industry, energy and the environment in 1996, made Lieutenant Governor in December 1997, and served as Acting Governor since September 18, 1998. Serdyukov was elected Governor in 1999 and again in 2003.
