Valentim Loureiro

Valentim Loureiro is a Portuguese politician and football leader. He has the rank of Major of the Portuguese Army.

He is Mayor of Gondomar (elected as an independent, after his Social Democratic Party withdrew its support due to ongoing legal suits against him), former President of the Portuguese Football League, former chairman of Boavista SC, and father of the current chairman, João Loureiro. He was also a consul of Guinea-Bissau in Oporto, and leader of the PSD in the Oporto district. Indeed, he is famous in Portugal for the multiplicity of offices he holds at any one time.

He is nicknamed Major Valentão, after his character in Contra-Informação.
