Valérien Ismaël (born September 28, 1975 in Strasbourg, France) is a French footballer who currently plays as a defender for Bayern Munich.

Valérien Ismaël is married to Caroline. They have a son, Alexis. His hobbies are golf, tennis and watching movies.

At 1.91 m tall, Valérien Ismaël is a strong tackler as well as in the air. He has yet to make his international debut.

He claimed that he wanted to capped for Germany national football team, part of the reason is he came from Strasbourg.

Togo national football team also want to call up Ismaël to 2006 FIFA World Cup, because his wife is Togolese, but FIFA rejected.

Valérien Ismaël was loaned to Werder Bremen in 2003. He was sold to Werder prior to the next season. Bremen won a German double in his first season at the club.

Valérien Ismaël, arrived at Bayern on 1 July 2005. He received a red card in his debut for the club. In his first season for Bayern Munich he promptly won the second German league and cup double of his career.
