Greetings, traveler. You've found the home of Valentinian.

Who am I? Well, my real name is Jesper Valentin and the user name Valentin was already taken by my brother :-) I'm a 30 year old Danish male living in Odense, the third largest city in Denmark. I made my first edit on the English Wikipedia on 3rd May 2005.

I study Contemporary History and English at the local university, the University of Southern Denmark (formerly known as Odense University.) In my spare time, I work at a major Danish furniture store.

What am I doing here? I'm one of those Wikipedians, who don't make a lot of publicity about themselves, but who're nonetheless pretty handy to have around - just to say so, myself. :) I write articles like everybody else, but you might also consider me a bit like a janitor (although I'm no administrator).

I'm an active member of WikiProject:Stub Sorting and an awful lot of my edits relate to stub sorting. Information should be as accessible as possible and in order to achieve this it needs a little bit of sorting and a little bit of order. I came across WP:WSS by chance but I stuck around. My articles primarily relate to Denmark (including politics, history and heraldry) but also a number of other topics. I've joined WikiProject:Military history after realizing how much of the relevant Danish material is either non-existent or very incomplete. At the moment, I spend most of my time on WikiProject:Heraldry and vexillology and I run the Denmark Portal. Another long term project is an attempt to bring a bit of order to the already existing lists of Danish cabinet ministers, to add the missing lists, and to give each of these politicians a short (stub) article, and to give the Spoken Wikipedia a try.

I speak Danish, English and a fair amount of German (be warned: my German grammar is getting rusty). I understand a fair amount of Norwegian, some Swedish, and a little Dutch. Alas, I am unable to write the three latter languages.

If you don't agree with something I wrote, feel free to drop me a line. I make mistakes too, and all well-argued criticism is welcome. You may have access to other sources than me.

• Translate de:Paul Schiemann de:Schwarz-Rot-Gold and de:Schwarz-Weiß-Rot into English.
• Translate and improve Reichskriegsflagge with material from the German version.
• Translate and improve Frederick V, Elector Palatine with material from the German version.
• Collect a list of county mayors for all Danish counties (since 1970)
  • To-do-list for this task: Århus, Bornholm, Copenhagen County, Frederiksborg, Funen (dates are missing), North Jutland, Ribe (dates are missing), Ringkjøbing (dates and years are missing), Roskilde, South Jutland, Storstrøm, Vejle, Viborg, West Zealand
• Create more articles about Danish politicians, fix succession boxes etc. etc.
• Investigate more cases where a country has no national stub tag. If I find sufficient material, I'll propose these templates.

• Create a new map for the article on Hedeby. I'm currently collecting data.
• Create a succession box for the Venstre party chairmen / deputy chairmen, like the one used for Helle Thorning-Schmidt
• Create entries for the Danish freedom songs from World War II: "En Vinter lang og mørk og haard" and "Det haver saa nygeligen regnet".
• Venstre's article could be improved. Read more on the history and update accordingly.
• Split up List of Defence Ministers of Denmark (split out historical offices.) Update links.
• Create entries for the historical Danish counties.
• Create articles for the Crown of Christian IV and Crown of Christian V.
• Update {{Infobox Danish town}} to include optional parametres.
• Create articles for the Danish administrative reforms in 1970 and 2007.

Create an article for Flag flying days in Denmark (a great inspiration is Flag flying days in Mexico)

• Brush up the list of Danish Prime Ministers. I'm very impressed by List of Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom
• Fix the list of official flags on Flag of Denmark.
• Collect images of historical Danish coat of arms.
  • Process and upload same to Commons.
• Create articles for Jens Rohde, Troels Lund Poulsen, and Ellen Trane Nørby.
• The articles about Nobel Prize in Physics Laureates need better templates. Code created. Upload and apply same.
• Translate da:Edvard Brandes and da:Ove Rode.

• I'm a member of Venstre (the Liberal Party, the largest political party in Denmark). For the last five years, our chairman has been the Prime Minister of Denmark. It's the first time Venstre has led a government since 1975.
• Eastern and South Eastern Europe in general. Most importantly, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, the Baltic States, Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, and Russia.
• The history of Denmark, the former Union of Denmark-Norway, and the former Danish provinces of Southern Schleswig, Skåneland and the former Danish West Indian Islands.
• Everything relating to the so-called Byzantine Empire. The Eastern Roman Empire was clearly the most advanced country in medieval Europe, but has been almost completely erased from Europe's collective mind after centuries of anti-Greek propaganda, which is simply disasterous. The country is incredibly interesting.
• The history of the Royal Danish Navy and Royal Dano-Norwegian Navy.
• The League of Nations. In fact, the 1920s are a lot more interesting than their reputation seems to suggest.
• Africa, in particular South Africa.
• The Greek Orthodox Church.
