Vahni Capildeo

Vahni Capildeo (born 1973) is a Trinidadian writer who has lived in the United Kingdom since 1991. She was born in Port of Spain, a member of the extended Capildeo family which has produced notable Trinidadian politicians and writers (including V. S. Naipaul). She was educated at Oxford University and later held a research fellowship at Girton College, Cambridge. Her first book, a collection of poems called No Traveller Returns, was published in 2003.
