Vacallo is a village in Switzerland in the hills above Chiasso. Located at the southern extremity of the canton of Ticino, it borders with Italy. It is divided into various parishes including San Simone. A plaque commemorates the fact that Giacomo Puccini stayed in Vacallo for a while and composed part of Turandot here.
