Víctor Muñoz Manrique (born in Zaragoza, 15th March 1957) is a former Spanish soccer player during the 80's and early 90's. During these years he played football for Real Zaragoza, FC Barcelona and totally earned 60 caps for Spain scoring 3 goals. He was also one of the first Spanish players who played in Italian Serie A, playing in 1988 for Sampdoria.
He played as midfield player and it was better known for his great physical strength, that allowed him to make his opponents get tired at the early stages of the match. That ability helped him to be very helpful when his team had to defend.
Víctor, as he was called when he was still an active footballer, was regular player for Spain between 1981 and 1988. During this period he played in a total of 60 international caps, participating in one World Cup, the 1986 FIFA World Cup held in Mexico. He also participated in the Euro 1984 in France and in Euro 1988 in Germany. His greatest success with the National Team was in Euro 84 when Spain was runner-up in the European Cup (lost to France 2-0).
Since the first half of the 90's he started working as soccer trainer, and coached clubs such as Real Mallorca, Villarreal and Real Zaragoza. On 8 October 2006, Victor Munoz signed a 2 year contract with the Greek football team Panathinaikos, being the 18th coach in 10 years for the greens.
