Utgard Mountain

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Utgard Mountain is located in Christopher Paolini's Inheritance Trilogy.

Utgard Mountain was originally known as Edoc'Sil (unconquerable) due to the inability to reach the bastion unless you can fly, this mountain is located at the pass between Palancar Valley and the plain running south to Uru'baen. It was also the site of the final battle between Galbatorix and Vrael. Vrael was recovering from his last battle with Galbatorix and was weak at the time. Galbatorix took that opportunity to behead Vrael, and thus defeat his last major opposition to ruling Alagaesia. After this event, Edoc'Sil became Utgard Mountain to most people, but also is called Ristvak'baen-the 'Place of Sorrow'.
